Farnell Augmented Reality - Animated invitations for electronica 2010
Client: Farnell
Agency: mehr:wert
Year: 2010
Farnell, an Electronic Component Distributor, wanted to have special invitations for their visitors at electronica 2010 in Munich. By showing some demo applications with Augmented Reality (AR) content we could convince the client to use this concept for their invitations.
For the visitors there were three kinds of prices to win if they'd come to the booth of Farnell and bring their invitation. On a webpage you could find out what these prices are by starting the AR application. The invitation needed to be held infront of the computer's webcam to let the items appear. A waterbottle, a branded USB-Stick and an iPad popped out of a gift box one after another. At electronica the actual price was revealed when holding the invitation into the camera of the installation at the booth of Farnell.
